Remember when John McCain interrupted that woman who said Obama was a Muslim and he said 'no, no, he's not, he's a good man' and liberals were like 'where have the days of respect in politics gone'

Now what dems did jump on was Romney’s “Binders full of women” which was a flub sure but was him saying “I have a big list of women I’d want in my administration”. He should have had at least one specific woman to say but all things considered…
Binders full of women is performative bullshit by someone who couldn’t even fake not being a sexist jackass. Romney was a creep through and through- that he looked a game show host osmond uncle was his political strength.
I'm no fan of John McCain, but this is taking the exchange out of context. Look at the video. She did say "He is a Muslim", but this was in the context of her and others saying they didn't trust Obama, didn't believe him, and that they were scared of him. McCain was addressing that larger point.
That a jackass like McCain who could seriously put Sarah Palin a “heartbeat away from the Presidency” represented the respectable wing of the GOP tells you everything

He also picked a VP that was a raving bigot.
It was the first step of GOP converting to MAGA.
The Tea Party was the second step.
