The Internet was better when you had to know what you were doing or at least know someone who knew what they were doing to be able to connect to it. It had a built in bar for entry.

Ironically, I'd say one of the issues with the old web was the (in) ability to verify that content was truthful and correct. So, big companies came in and were trustworthy (to a point).

Now, all this AI slop isn't truthful nor correct, and is embraced by the big companies.
