This seems like it’s beyond question, but maybe I’m just cynical… it’s just such an obvious and overwhelmingly useful tool for catching criminals. Banning it feels like banning, say, police cars, or phones.

But I suppose delay to buy us time to get farther from pure capitalism never hurts!

It's a useful tool, but the risks of failure (and misuse) is far to big.

Innocent people have been banned from store for shoplifting over these sorts of systems, bad? Yes.

Now they want to give these systems to cops, who will beat up innocent people.
