okay at this point i think @bsky.app needs to start hosting monthly workshops on "how to tell when a post is a joke" or this place is going to become untenable

The idea that snark tags are for the weak might work on Reddit, where there are no character limits. But in a format like this one, if you insist on being too cool for snark tags while avoiding blockheaded earnestness, it’s probably best to disable replies or restrict them to followers.
I fear it's gonna become 2018 Twitter where literally anything anyone said was offensive somehow and then switch polarity a few years later to be a pro-N*zi propoganda site (2025 Twitter)
I got schooled this morning for calling trump Elons "Girlfriend" called a misogynist....🤦 . I get that there is some hypersensitivity to everything right now, but attacking me ain't going to improve your circumstances.
It is a problem with modern life. A big social media platform is global, which means that people from all different cultures and walks of life can all get together and have conversations and make jokes, but those same people are going to have all different levels of what they find offensive.
We need to teach people how to tell when something isn't a joke. I shouldn't have to worry that people think I'm having a laugh when I'm trying to discuss the masterpiece that is the 1993 Super Mario Bros. film.
Don't need it myself😄but get the point, some people can't tell the difference is it a joke or not, especially if it's sarcastic, like my humour is but everyone should be allowed to joke whatever they like, world is too serious 🤔😊👍
