Been a few years and I am still at a loss at what #Apple intended with Airplay 2, for both music & podcasts

On my Mac & listening, move to my iPhone, then return to my Mac. Like 10 taps

VS Spotify app. On Mac or iPhone, auto syncs all devices to current listen. Perfect. What is Apple's intention?
