Don't tell anyone, but I'm not a big fan of Agatha Christie. Having said that, this was a book club pick, and in fairness was one of the better ones I've read. It was pretty entertaining. I didn't guess the culprit but then I never do 😂 #booksky

The first night I stayed up all night to finish a book was and then there were none by Christie. I don’t like the early 20th century … morality, but I love her books.
I’m a huge AC fan. I’m reading all of the Poirots in order and conveniently got up to this one last week. She is a master of her craft. I’ve read enough of her that I usually can figure out the whodunnit in most mystery books. She’s trained me to be a very observant reader, lol.
I guess when you write 60 plus books and numerous short stories over a number of decades, quality will vary. I like some of the Tommy and Tuppence stories. Had read most of the Poirot and Marple books before the TV adaptations.
I read Hallowe'en Party for the first time this past October and when I finished it I literally said out loud to an empty room, "What the hell did I just read?" 😂 Suffice it to say I don't plan on reading anything else by her anytime soon.
I’m a huge AC fan but like I tell people who have admitted to me they’ve never seen Star Wars “That’s fine, I recommend them, but if they aren’t your sort of thing that okay too”
We can’t all like the same things; the world would be very dull if we did
Christmas is no more. For +2,000 years we were allowed to Celebrate the creation of the Messiah, but currently we are already in the apocalyptic 'Trumpets' and what we should Celebrate for the next 195 years is the New 'Pentecost' of the Complete Messiah upon his 'chosen' & 'Snatched'
I have read a lot of Christies. Bearing in mind that the narrative style was different in her day, I still find her books too slow paced and overly explanatory
I did! The language/views in some of the earlier books is a little dated and off putting, but the stories themselves are sound and the science is solid. I'm now reading "Murder isn't easy: the forensics of Agatha Christie" by Carla Valentine
Love the cover; I’ve seen all the David Suchet and Joan Hickson TV characterisations of Poirot and Miss Marple but have read very few of the books.
Watching ‘Hercule Poirot’s Christmas’ is one thing I always do in the run up to Christmas so perhaps I should try reading it this year.
Thanks for the recommendation; I really enjoyed it. (I think partly as the Joan Hickson production was very true to the original. Usually when I watch/ read I spend my time spotting the differences).
Any other suggestions for me?
