I tried to say for those two but it was just getting so overwhelming negative for me that it wasn't even worth staying for the two anymore. So I just had to cut my loses and dip.
The only thing I'm sad about with finding out she has that line is hearing that it's apparently voiced, but being unable to find a clip of it when I search Google and Youtube, lol.
Its so fucking gross how they act.
And worst part is its prob gonna get worse when they get to *that* scene with Quatre and people start saying they changed it in the localization, despite it being from the game itself.
Mfw the game from the country that was teased to deal with anti immigration has a trans character and the protag says gay rights basically in the JP script and its also on the EN translation.
There’s nothing about them to respect, especially since they won’t even respect you and treat you like garbage for not thinking localizations are the worst thing since 9/11
I'm so glad I'm off Twitter. I'm tired of seeing people who don't understand how language works complain about localization because of their fetish for the Japanese language. A language they don't even bother to learn, despite how much they seem to want English to just be a carbon copy of Japanese
They glaze Japan so much yet they don’t even bother to actually learn Japanese. Because if they did and played Daybreak in its original language, they would find out it was always woke
Yes!!!
Omg. You have no idea how happy I am that I'll get to experience the connect event at the end of the game again, but this time with a proper localization. That event means the world to me. And I'm trying to be vague for spoilers but I'm sure you can probably guess which one I'm talking about
I can tell which one you’re talking about and yeah it’s a really good one. For all the weird things Daybreak 2 does, it’s connect events are some of the best in the series
I stand by the connect events as a whole just being some of the best moments in the entire series, imo.
Daybreak 2's biggiest issues come from what feels like them stretching the game out to meet a deadline. But the stuff that isn't stretched out is so peak.
They never get mad about any ACTUAL screw-ups either (like the rather embarrassingly large amount of item description screw-ups, typos, and in some cases downright mistakes in the initial English release of Reverie that took almost a year to be fixed, although it still wasn't as bad as Ys VIII 1.0).
Yeah, that one was fixed in less than a week after release (and it wasn't just the description either, the abilities themselves straight-up did not work properly with those characters).
That last part feels like something I don't know how could be an NA only thing. It feels like it'd be present in the original Japanese release too, and people would've noticed.
Then again, Reverie's entire release was a mess. It's why I have a CE AND an LE from worrying my CE would never arrive.
In fairness to me, I haven't gotten to Daybreak. I only really knew of the Beauty's Blade thing because it was so prevalent, and only know of the rizz one because it popped up in my feed.
I won't be holding back for saying this, but I will anyways.
I hope those people who are harassing and sending death threats to that localizer never get a job in the video game industry because this type of attitude is not acceptable under any circumstance.
These are the last people who deserve a job in the game industry. You know why companies don’t listen to every fan? Because of dumb fucks like these who think they can make a better product
Like if they are so offended by the localization....don't buy the game. You can boycott things peacefully. Sending death threats and harassing people sloves nothing.
They solve nothing and if anything airing out that anger like that rather than doing it in a healthy manner will not benefit anybody.
I don't understand why people can't just channel that negative energy onto anything else that isn't a human being. Or heck turn that into positive energy too.
Rather than tourists, at this point is conservative agenda brainwashing them and weirdos who think to know japanese being the living example of the Dunning-Krügger bell making things worse.
These are the type of people who glorify Japan as if it’s a paradise where nothing woke ever happens. And sadly that reality check is never gonna hit them
some of those people have never even heard about Trails but have seen the translation use the word "rizz" and the trans representation and suddenly are super invested in it as if it killed their entire family and everything they love
I did not expect these are the reasons people are angry on Kuro 2 for. There are legit reasons the game gives you to be angry about and this is what they choose to be angry over
Yeah their fixation to be that mad on those lines of dialogue instead of later on in the story that is actually controversial is like why even in the first place???? None of those people should be not taken seriously at all
Yeah I remember back when Daybreak 2 was released in Japan people were pissed off about the later parts of the game.
And yet, for some reason, the talking point people wanna bring up and rile on is the stuff that is very much innocuous comparatively to the actual writing of the game????
Oh I think so too. There’s definitely cases of bad localization that should be criticized, but there’s a lot of instances of what they’re trying to bash either isn’t correct or they’re going way too far by wishing death on the people involved
we thank blueskies for being mostly without p*dos and n*zis and also the average userbase being older. It makes scrolling your timeline SO MUCH LESS toxic
I hate to see this be the community of the series I love but that's how it is rn. Most of the bandwagoners'll move on, but there's plenty of the "anti-loc" (more than just that) people around in the community. It's so frustrating to see
Comments
Some people just want to be unhappy no matter what
That, and they're complaining about Nadia saying "rizz", even though that totally feels like something she'd say, lol
And there is a character in Kai that only speaks in slang, these motherfuckers will die when they see that.
Their loss really
And worst part is its prob gonna get worse when they get to *that* scene with Quatre and people start saying they changed it in the localization, despite it being from the game itself.
Scum really flock together
I just feel so bad for the guy who's getting relentlessly harassed over two fucking pieces of lines in a game.

I don't give a fuck if this is harsh.

Also if I can say another thing, this type of shitty behavior especially directed at another person is generally frowned upon for a reason.
Nobody other than those that are okay with this behavior would wanna work with a fucking asshole that wants misery onto other people working.
I don't understand why people can't just channel that negative energy onto anything else that isn't a human being. Or heck turn that into positive energy too.

Y'know. There's valid criticisms and complaints to be had with a localization due to certain terms used, I get it!
I might even agree to an extent.
Buuuuut some people take it too far, man.
Localization is always a heated topic taken too far. It sucks.
