What prevents me from supporting your terrific game is I would be a Kickstarter supporter who, because I wasn’t on time to be early bird, would be treated as a 2nd class “Patron” supporter with a less desirable box and cartridge. So my logic is I should just wait for your cheaper retail release.

We never intended to make anyone feel that way. The amount of demand for cartridges was overwhelming and unexpected, and we created the Patron Editions ad hoc in order to meet the demand. If we'd known what kind of demand there would be before launch, it would've been very different.

y chance to have an add-on to provide patron editions to be upgraded to founder editions? I think in most other Kickstarters that I supported, late supporters just paid more… instead of both paying more and getting a lower class product.

It's not a lower class product. The only difference is the label on the box and cartridge. Surely you wouldn't say that one of these two is a lower class product than the other:
