Zenmap makes it somewhat easier.

Thank you for this… much better than the tools I was using and even more features… plus it shows the commands to accomplish such things

Y'all dont set VM ids to VM IP addresses ? Like VM 100 has 192.168.1.100, etc

yes! but depending on complexity /etc/hosts or a proper DNS setup is my go to

I only know my public IP off heart, if I have to SSH into any other system on my network you best know that scan is happening
