Great wimpy that. Used to go in with luncheon vouchers my mum gave me regularly. There was a John Menzies directly across the road, just out of shot, that had a tiny record department downstairs

Pedestrianise the lot of it. Traffic is toxic, literally. Do the whole of the city centre. Have planned, limited, core e-bus routes for access from next concentric circle(s) (subway, park/ride, wider bus routes). Some imagination, please.

A wheelchair adapted van helps. Though obviously no use if it's all pedestrianised. Black taxis are about the only other vehicles with ramps that are reliable. A lot of buses refuse to use the ramps they have. Whatever changes are made, it's guaranteed that accessibility will be inadequate.

Clean fuels; free-flowing throughways for effective public transport access in/out of centre; ease of vehicular access for those whose mobility is challenged. But key principle: preferential option for the pedestrian.
