So if there’s a better option to get in a manager with a higher ceiling, you would rather keep Ange to “own the doubters”? This is the same shit that was happening with the hardcore Jose/ Conte fans.
This remains my position too. I don't see it as optimism either. It's just an observation of the what looks like the strategy/process. Things can change, though. A strong end to the domestic season still important.
The rebuild needs to continue regardless of who is the manager and I hope that the next manager, whenever that is, plays in a similar way to Ange so we don't need to change the squad again.
This is it for me. People can moan about the board but there appears to be a strategy in place that they’re sticking to and that’s all we can really ask for at this point, IMO.
I would flip this argument and think about it from levy/langes perspective.
If Ange stays, we start poorly and is sacked early, then it’ll be another wasted season. Everyone will say “why didn’t you change in the summer?” and they’ll be called incompetent. Thats one hell of a personal risk to take.
Me neither, but he’ll be under pressure as much as the manager to make sure we have a decent season, otherwise I imagine he’ll be a head to roll, so he’s going to be considering all options to ensure his own job is safe.
Not if he wins trophies before that... and there is still time if fans/levy give that to him. I hope he can ignore the short attention span, boiled piss types.

Hell, if Levy asks me I will charge him
