On the cover of G.A. Cohen’s Karl Marx’s Theory of History: A Defence the publisher quoted a line from a review: “Cohen has written a very clear book.” To the uninitiated this may seem like “Cohen has very neat handwriting”, but for the analytic philosopher there can be no higher praise.
