Getting software to work only as intended is painstaking; keeping it that way is much harder. Disciplined documentation and disciplined process is essential - and there are still always unintended consequences. Whatever is done in a hurry will not be reversible.

I had a long career in software engineering/ implementation and orders from on high are to be considered as universally inferior esp. If emanating from Sales & Marketing, it's safer that way.
Actually, that there were liars, incompetents, and obfuscators in charge of something that was fundamentally broken didn't 'help'.
However given the age, motivation, and (lack of) experience of Musk's little helpers, I'm expecting them to break something if they're not dislodged quite soon.
