Any prediction that the US would now be better prepared for a pandemic is given the lie by the confirmation of RFK, a deranged, sadistic anti-science anti-vaxer who will help Trump kill more people than a war. Covid hit Red states hardest because they loved hating lockdowns, masks, and vaccinations.

One prediction of Trump’s Genocide was that Covid would mostly kill Dem voters but the reverse occurred.

Some social effects: many theaters are gone forever; businesses that cheated to get funding want it again; much teaching remains on Zoom; and many young workers on laptops resent “going in.”

I also wrongly thought the way we lived and worked would permanently change. I wonder whether thats been due to a desire to put a collective trauma behind us and go back to how things were. Maybe it’s me but sometimes feels as if 2020/2021 has been erased.
