This just came up so for anyone who doesn't know - .AI files are *a vector file type*, they are Adobe Illustrator's native file type. Files ending with .ai don't have anything to do with /that/ kind of AI 🫶 Pls don't call out an artist bc you see them working on an .ai file

Look, I... I would dearly love to believe that no one is that dumb, but after working nearly a decade in retail pharmacy, I'm not sure. Like, I have seen people say and do things that make me genuinely wonder how we survive as a species.

Whenever someone says "Nobody's actually that dumb, right?" I sigh, knowing that there are, in fact, people who *are* actually that dumb.

On the other hand, anyone using Adobe is probably getting scraped by Adobe anyways unless you're using outdated versions. I ditched them a long time ago.

Is there a direct line between this and the fact we have generations that don't know how to navigate a file directory? Possibly. Possibly....

I guess this is also what happens when so many ai programs use .ai as the end of their filename etc too. But sheesh...bleak

It's so wild!!! Learning that because they grew up with like, smart phones etc no one ever teaches them things like filepaths and it's just Assumed they all know how technology works all of the time. It was like, a college prof or smth saying the first day of a tech class was. Doing that??

Recently started learning Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop from last year so I'm thankful I know of the file naming conventions.
