Neil deGrasse Tyson gets way more hate than is deserved. For a mainstream science communicator he’s doing a great job. He doesn’t have as many bad takes as the haters will lead you to believe.

Should he be platformed as an expert on trans rights or Palestine? Probably not. But I will say he sure as hell does a better job defending those things in front of a mass audience than most other mainstream figures. He certainly doesn’t seem afraid of the blowback when talking abt these real issues
