idk how to break it to you but you gotta protect NSFW content. like you gotta. and i dont just mean the "ohhhh, bodies are art and gorgeous, isn't the human form wonderful" stuff, even though that is true. I also mean the weird stuff. 1/7

Agreed ππ½
Im also somewhat annoyed at those anti-nsfw people that claims moral high ground for being so pure of heart the mere suggestion of anything sexual send them into a stroke-induced coma π€£
I'm just straight up reporting any posts like this. If it's NSFW and it's not marked adult content, it's straight to report. I'm tired of asking. They know they should be marking their posts, but they get a thrill out of forcing folks to participate who wouldn't otherwise. It's creeper level ick.
well they dont alt text their nasty lookin weiners so howβs bsky gonna know how to show you less? they donβt even put any tezt at all, or if they do its just stuff like βgood morningβ raaaah
I never notice the lack of alt text. Anytime I scroll past it I end up positioning my screen so I mostly see the three dots at the bottom to try to block it without having to see their dick on my screen. But that explains why it never works then.
Sexual expression is extremely important and healthy. As we continue to devolve into a more puritan society, they're gonna start with that weird shit, and all it will do is silence queer communities, neurodivergent voices, and push marginalized people further down. 2/7
As a trans woman, my very existence will be called into question as "sexual in nature." It isn't true, me wanting to take a piss in my local Safeway because I drank an iced coffee too fast can't get any more innocuous. I just have no impulse control and coffee is good. 3/7
Fact of the matter is, even if that weren't true, even if every LGBT person had nothing to fear from this, I believe thoroughly that even the weird porn is worth defending. that guy drawing dicks as big as human bodies, should be defended. Artistic sexual expression is worth defending. 4/7
NSFW content has its place. You don't have to like it, you don't have to engage with it, but I highly encourage you to defend it. It's worthy of your protection because a denial of it, a suppression of it, is not only profoundly fucked up, but fascist. And you're cool! You don't wanna be a nazi. 5/7
And personally, for me, it's validating. It makes me happy to see myself interpreted in those respects, it makes me happy to see others express themselves through those acts. We're all messy little meat monsters, and if drawings of us smashing our bits together makes us happy, GOOD. WHO CARES? 6/7
I agree. It's a freedom issue. I mean IMHO, Larry Flynt was a garbage person who made smut - and an outspoken defender of freedom who had every right to make that smut. Because that's how freedom works. I had the freedom to not buy the smut. No problemo. People who can't grasp that need to go.

That being said, artistic expression is all well and good until folks start posting CP or Zoophilia. The paradox of tolerance exists for a reason.
We really are standing on the shoulders of giants. Smh.
