Loved the episodes, although keeping squid game 2 ending in suspense after 3 year gap is kind of a squid game in itself, feels like an edging salon all over again.
Why is Netflix constantly releasing half of a show months inbetween? Which executive said this whole βseason Bβ crap was a good idea? Why is this a thing now with every big show of theirs?
I actually really like the split because it gives time for everyone to watch it and then discuss it before the final part is released, I think good shows thrive with this release strategy tbh
Thank you @netflix.com! Something about seeing a group of people continually vote for their own destruction by the slimmest of margins while showing nothing but contempt for the person trying to warn them about the future was oddly cathartic. I guess art imitates life π€·ββοΈ #squidgame2
I cannot believe you didn't release the full season! Brutal and with no warning! When are you releasing the rest is need to know what happens dammit! π€£
I loved it! I was surprised by some of the neg reviews. The recruiting guy was chilling and great to watch! Wish he wasn't killed off because he was great! Lee Byung-hun (Front Man, Player 001) was so nuanced. His facial expressions said a lot when he didn't! I want to know more on his backstory.
Could the next season come in less than 3 years? I donβt understand how we used to get 24 episode seasons of shows every year on broadcast TV, but Netflix takes 3 years to make 7 episodes.
Yes. You want to make a quality show with a ton of production design and vfx plus marketing time? Yep. It only shortens if it's based on existing IP and you built all the sets needed during S1.
1. They had no intention on making a 2nd season until its success. They had to negotiate deals, write the script, cast, wait for actors/directors to become available, film and edit the show.
2. They did Season 2 and 3 at the same time.
Itβs has been many years since that was true. It was not a sustainable model as talent canβt be held to those kinds of contracts any more, itβs not financially feasible. Episodic shows are made more like movies now.
