For me, the decline of Whatsapp traffic and the rise of Signal traffic have now crossed each other. Today, I received Whatsapp messages from 5 different individuals/groups, and Signal messages from 7.
(Yes, I know, it's probably pathetic to only get apps from 12 different sides on an entire day ;)

Pretending Signal is even in the same ballpark as WhatsApp is pure cope
Messenger use is very inert since you rely on most of your contacts to switch with you and might have to keep an app installed you otherwise wouldn't for the 1-2 people who don't.
Of these, I only know Threema but nobody who uses it.
