The Second Amendment grants the right to bear arms. Ok, a pistol or shotgun for self-defense, maybe a rifle for hunting. It does not and should not allow possession of military grade weapons or a fucking arsenal of weapons and ammo.

The shooter was a student
They used a 9mm Pistol, not a rifle of any kind.
They were not of legal age to possess a firearm, let alone commit a criminal act with it.
They were almost certainly taking medication prescribed for behavioral issues. That is the matter being ignored

I re-watched the movie the American President with Michael Douglas recently, and was shocked at how far to the right the conversation on guns has shifted in the past 20 years. Recall that the centerpiece legislation in that movie would have outlawed handguns completely. Unthinkable today.
