This is exactly what a lot of us said would start happening when they started deportations. If they had simply left it alone, we wouldn't be in this mess. Simply deporting the ones that actually committed violent crimes (and not every single non-citizen) would have been enough and less costly.

Before Florida lifts child labor laws so" they can do work 'illegal aliens' use to do", DeSantis and the local DHS/ICE personnel should be required to do the work everyday for 2 weeks.
Besides being fucking abhorrent to rescind child labor laws, it's also fucking useless in addressing the root "problem". Even if they could, how many 12, 13, or 14 year old kids would WANT to work 10 to 12-hour shifts daily? And how exactly would they meet state education requirements?
So when inevitably this still doesn't address the labor problem, what next? Force children to work? Any honest person understands that our entire economy requires immigrant labor to function because we don't pay living wages for farm workers, janitors, hotel cleaning staffs...
restaurant workers, and other "unskilled" jobs. I'd argue even with improved wages we'd still struggle to fill these jobs because we don't have enough citizens to fill all these jobs. Our immigration rates are directly tied to our employment rates (i.e. labor force participation rates)...

It's so frustrating to hear of Americans complaining about immigrants taking jobs when it's just not happening on any kind of scale that poses a national (or statewide) problem. There may be small, isolated cases, but the reality is we need immigrants to support our economy by working here.
And last I checked, that's been the reality of the United States since...1607. So maybe Gov. Ron Dumbfuck could've stopped fear-mongering and targeting immigrants and he wouldn't have to be concerned with impacts to Florida's very large farming industry, and pushing a stupid child labor plan.
