Generally, a catastrophic gearbox failure causing the main and tail rotor outputs to seize. It looked to me like it had lost its tail completely.

A Siemens CEO, no less. Suspicious as all hell. Seasoned chopper pilots who looked at the video footage have said this is an extremely Rare event. Almost no Bell helo of this type has ever crashed from a rear boom strike by the rotor...

6 confirmed dead as of now. Tourist family from Spain and the pilot. Incredibly sad. And yet another reason these tour helicopters should be heavily regulated.
