I don't have the energy to respond coherently to this latest Ofsted nonsense because it's all just rearranging the deckchairs. With added workload. 🤦♀️🙄

Ofsted is (and always has been) completely broken. It should be abolished and replaced with a system of school self-review like the one proposed by John McBeath
My teaching career predates Ofsted. We had a very well respected system of HMIs in my day, a collegiate body who helped to support staff, students and schools.
Similar for the Inner London Education Authority. Teams of inspectors & advisors provided support for schools following an inspection to help them develop.
Ofsted have been unashamedly political both in pushing a very narrow view of learning (knowledge transfer) & by using inspection to force schools into the maws of the academy chains.
