It's especially the case that when you learn do something physical you build your ability to do other physical things. That's why things like sewing or woodwork support writing. The whole narrative arises out of thinking about people as 'brains on legs' rather than remembering the body learns too.

If they weren't I wouldn't have left teaching primary (which I loved; the politics and toxic work environment not so much) and started training clinical staff in the NHS how to use new systems. ☺️
Learning is more messy and complex than I think a lot would like to acknowledge.
People aren't just information receptacles rather they're highly complex thinkers.
