That doesn’t change the fact that the idea of IP “theft” is created from whole cloth by megacorporations and only benefits them. The alternative to libgen downloads isn’t a sale for you 8 guys. The alternative is even fewer people knowing of your work.

I think what I’m upset most by is the way that all of our work is erased and stolen, authors, editors, marketers, production, printers, booksellers, translators. There’s a whole ecosystem of people who rely on book sales to survive in capitalism.

That sounds awful but I’m not sure what it has to do with libgen. Libgen is doing the opposite of erasing work. You seem to be under the mistaken impression that the people downloading your books on libgen would purchase them if libgen didn’t exist and that’s simply not the case.

Completely 100% agreed! I’m here responding to the people who are making this about Libgen’s existence rather than Meta’s entitlement.

They still wouldn’t have paid for those books in the absence of libgen!
