totally Dave, the GOP and their allies may want to ignore it and deny but there are economic costs that will happen, Home insurance in florida now for example and will just spread. throughout the US. They may be able to bluster and fool people I guess but eventually it catches up

20 years ago I worked for the largest reinsurance company in the world, and already then we were modelling hurricane risks in the USA 25 to 50 years into the future with climate change assumed, and calculating what investments in energy transition could be done back then to reduce those future risks

It’s just stupid.

Americans are very bad at regulating all kinds of businesses including insurance companies.

Stupid voters voting idiots into office means America will continue to have bad insurance regulations.

My impression of the US is that they'll create an expensive federal program to underwrite policies in certain areas and make the underlying problem worse.

I think they have done something similar with flood risk in the past.
