It’s frankly ‘kin extraordinary we haven’t had a clean energy comms/mkting campaign from govt that has a comparable broad effect to e.g. energy privatization campaigns in the ‘80’s.

As outside observer also extraordinary that energy professionals haven’t clocked this and organised accordingly.

Former govt outlined what they considered to be an acceptable pain threshold 3 years ago: £3.5k pa. If householder bills fell below this, they were confident it wouldn't result in sig political damage. They may have been right too.

So we womble on, wasting both householder income & C02 emissions.

It's because the cost of network buildout and real world constraints management generally outweigh the zero marginal cost aspect... Unless you factor in a strong social cost of carbon but let's face it that's not convincing to the general public.
