This is a state that can't detect something as obvious as a gun walking into a school though, what realistic pathway do they have to prevent mifepristone tablets from distribution?
I don't mean to be dismissive of the experience women there are encountering, and it does make me sad there is so little empathy from the government on the issue.
I'm more trying to be critical of an overzealous government.
Which is one of the reason why they've encouraged the other party in a pregnancy to report. If your ex, SO, one night stand might have had an abortion or used a morning after pill they want to hear from you. Think about how easily petty, abusive, controlling, scorned men can weaponize that
That's incredibly discouraging. I have to confess I haven't watched Texas too closely on this issue, and I maybe had a misleading assumption that USA was collectively making progress on the issue of domestic abuses of all kinds.
We had been making progress. That's a large part of why this backlash is happening. The progress in areas affecting women and POC is why we now face so many angry white men and their crusade to roll back everything to a better time. They mean "better" for them
Texas doesn't care and doesn't anticipate. Texas is all about keeping the aging, not dying nearly quickly enough, very wealthy evangelical sponsors excited and pleased.

And they will be happy because it means fewer women are allowed autonomy to make health care decisions.
They care about harming and controlling women. Look at everything that's happened, including women dying because of those laws there.
Maybe don't be so dismissive of the real threats facing women, dude.

And people cared more about *egg prices* than they do other humans.
