1) tropes that I love: Friends to lovers. It's often hard for me to buy into potential romance if I don't feel like the characters actually like each other to some degree outside of romance as well
one being down bad/smitten in a very obvious way. Think Tamaki/ Harui, Daishou/Mika, Ryota/Ayako. Third one goes along with friends to lovers sometimes, but not always - I LOVE me some bonded pairs. Capable when separated, absolute idiots together. Like tananoya, bokuroo, miguel and tulio
2) tropes i don't love - depends often on how it's handled. the concept of enemies to lovers appeals to me but rarely feels done well. A lot of the purely physical tropes i don't care for like big height differences ( fun with monster/supernatural but just humans? nope) or
opposite attracts ones (jock x nerd/goth kid/whatever). Which only goes back to if I don't feel like they could be friends outside of the romance it's just... not there for me
3) emotional aspect that gets me - basic but support and trust. There are some duos that just *know* the other can do a thing and fully trust them with doing that thing and i eat that up all the time. hq is full of this. Bonus point if they're each others hypeman too
4) physical aspect that gets me - casual touching. Not even romantic, just stuff like leaning on each other when standing. you know the pose, one with their up on the others shoulders. love that shit

it's okay if they're just hot for each other, but not in romance
