As long as people don’t go too far, there’s nothing with being political or activist. We all just need to focus on truth and how to find it, and be willing to discard beliefs that are wrong. Learning to question what we believe to be true. Remembering to ask, why do I and why do they, believe?

This is so true. Everyone is quick to pull out their phones but to actually stand up to an oppressor is scary. The old adage they came for someone and I did nothing-then they came for me. (not quoting obviously). This could happen and we need to be prepared. I believe Americans stand together.

I'm not apolitical. I'm frightened. I lived overseas for 13 years in some pretty oppressive places and I've seen what can happen. I had friends whose families died because of the Khmer Rouge and I was thrown out of Oman. Got tear-gassed in Seoul too

While not physically hurt, I experienced a heavy dose of misogyny in the face of nepotism and cronyism once. The oppressor actually sent me angry DMS yelling at me for 'abandoning my responsibilities' (which he himself took away and gave to his friend)
