I really hope that the $70/$60 for DK is what most games will cost and not the $90/$80 for Mario Kart World. At that price point, there aren’t that many series I’d seriously consider getting. 😬 What about you guys? - ThreadSky

for me they look well worth it and really feel like games nintendo spend like a bunch more money on than some of their other games.

70 is the norm 10 dollars more would make me reconsider some games but if they are from a series I love, I'd pay it or wait for it to be on sale.

I'm sure they have a ton of data (who is playing emulator games only, sales, etc.) - so frankly, I'm not bothered. If I really love a series, I'll buy it for $90. Other games I'll wait for sales. If a game never drops low enough, I'll never get it, and that's fine.

I could see them pricing mainline entries (DK, Mario, etc.) at $80/90, because enough ppl will get them no matter what...

but then newer smaller ips $60/70. Just a thought. 😅 I'm sure of enough people don't buy the games then they'll course correct.

I will say that their sales on digital games are amazing. It’s the only way I can get so many games. I love physical games but if I only have to pay $10-$20 a few months down the line my ass will be patient.

The Mario Kart pricing is baaaaad. When you compare it to other high-end arcade racers like Forza Horizon 5, it's even worse. That launched at and is still priced at $60.

I think the real tell of Nintendo's new pricing will be the "Switch 2 edition" upgrades. I'm a little pessimistic.

If they start charging 90 bucks * game then they won't see me again, the new console is nice but too expensive (Nvidia thought them well).

I have a Lenovo Legion Go and a lot of games on Steam, it's much more affordable and versatile to just game on pc. I can give up on Nintendo's exclusives.

Mario Kart World looks great but all I wanted there was a release date for Hollow Knight Silksong, and at least we got some vague info about it releasing this year, and I won't need a Switch 2 to play that.
