I feel like a lot of the issues with SNC were fixed in TDM.

The most glaring SNC issues weren't gameplay. Bad limited teaches lessons, but bad flavour tends to put a plane 6 feet under.

The concept was amazing. The execution was not, and it's left the plane nigh on radioactive as far as wotc is concerned.
