Was with an ED trainee on nights, and I was telling her about my rules of anaesthesia, and I wonder what rules other people had.

The first two of mine were:
1). You can't anaesthetise a rumour
2). Do as little as possible (in terms of disturbing the patient's physiology, not just being work shy!)
