they market AI to tech grifters as a shortcut past all the boring bits (actually making something) to get to the fun stuff (getting paid for not doing anything), but they also market it to users as a way to get bespoke art
you can't actually have both! nobody will pay for what they can generate
In any project, there is different levels of work. Ultimately AI is both because though it appears just generative; more complex operations are instead an interection of it, the human and even the infrastructure you may design around it. Of course, what is forgotten is AI isnt a endproduct
AI isnt just generative though. It is just as much something you build on top of and interect with especially in the form of modals like stable diffusion. Additionally you are strawmanning how people who in tech feel about art. For them these projects are often their art too
I'm so sick of appreciating the beauty of nature, what my soul really craves is sitting through a 6-hour unpaid AI-generated union-busting training session so I can earn money for my betters

don't pay an artist/writer/musician, pay us who stole from them!
you can't actually have both! nobody will pay for what they can generate
at least one group always loses out when another adopts genAI. that's before we even get into its destructive epistemic effects
