I want to write for a game. Not because there's a specific IP I wanna write for, but because I as an author see a lot of writer teams on games just straight up drop the ball and the player deserves something that talks with them, not to them.

That's great, but keep in mind that the difference between writing books and writing for games is that it's a team sport, not a solo venture. If the writing drops the ball in a game, it's often because there's a lot of moving parts out of your control that can obscure talking "with" the player.

I'd suggest trying to write some small interactive projects on your own to see if it's something you really enjoy, because trust me, if you're not really in it for the art form, it becomes tedious, and FAST. So see if you're truly in love with the art form before switching lanes, IMO! Best of luck!

I appreciate the advise. While I've done 'team writing' in the form of roleplay, I have never done a true collaborative narrative project. Definitely an experience I'd like to participate in and learn from!

There's a really long history here haha - we USED to be eligible members, but they decided we didn't qualify actually and kicked us all out/dissolved our wing of the org. So really the text should say LET US (BACK) IN. We would LOVE to qualify. Ball's in their court.
