Clement is actually a decent manager. Sacking him would be very costly and result in a significant downgrade such as McInnes. The question is can they afford to sack him? The ideal result for Celtic is they sack him and go into a spiral of debt with a lower quality manager.

Actually I think the opposite in that the longer he blunders on the better. He is decent but not outstanding. Surely the biggest risk is that somehow he leaves and they stumble upon an outstanding coach (see Aberdeen) who can get a team overachieving, ie playing well above its talent levels?

Agreed I said he was decent with no reference to outstanding. I guarantee you if they replace him with a Scottish Rangers diehard such as McInnes they’ll deteriorate significantly. Maybe the fans only want Rangers diehards in the side which may be their endgame?

I'm in two minds. No doubt they are operating at a substantially lower level than us. But they seem much worse than that gap explains. Some of it seems to be the yo-yo chaos of boom-bust from not adapting to this truth earlier maybe?

Just don't want the Celtic board to do what they did in 2012 and just sit back happy enough to be one step ahead of rangers.

We missed a massive opportunity to become like Ajax or Benfica, become a consistent feature in the CL and make some deeper runs in both the CL and EL. Can't miss that again.
