to suddenly decide X is actually valued at almost the 44b price Elon paid for it. Now if they say that & reporters repeat it (because they know people will lap that shit up) it doesn't make them ethical. It just means, they're reporting what they've been told. The evidence is speculative.

The Yahoo headline is from 2024 and is about Fidelity valuing Twitter at 1/4 the valuation you're getting confused about.

If I were to believe your incorrect assumptions about financial reporting, it would seem Fidelity was trying to tank their own investment.
