I do think the common narrative around the economy is that excessive progressive spending overheated the economy and true or not it's a pretty good way to discourage any future Dem from throwing a lot of money into union infrastructure projects or any of that health care spending Bernie wants yeah.

Biden did a lot and a lot of where it fell short—not expanding the child tax credit—it wasn’t Biden or the Dems that didn’t help families with kids, it was Manchin & Sinema and the entire GOP in opposition to helping. Did Bernie mention M4A? Otherwise I’m not sure how relevant that is here?

Also, Trump and Vance are Ivy League-educated rich guys who refused to release their tax returns. Vance's wife is a Yale-educated attorney who was still working in San Francisco until he was selected as VP.

Harris and Biden went to non-Ivy League schools. Trump and Elon joked about firing people.

Bernie's statement is accurate but only part of the story. The Republican party has done exactly the same thing, & to a greater extent. Truth is, both parties have completely failed us. Neither is worth supporting. Harris lost because her "Joy" campaign was egregiously tone deaf & ill-timed.

The problem was that the Dem establishment forced Biden out who worked to build those alliances that got him elected, with Bernies help. Somewhere during the switch up with candidates, the alliances and coalitions fell apart or were severely weakened.

The unions did NOT get what they had been asking for. The crux of the strike was that workers got no sick days. They wanted 15 sick days; after the months of negotiating "for" the unions, they got 1. To date, a single railroad has increased that number to 4.

Any union praise of Biden came from leadership of only a few of the dozen railroad unions involved. Interestingly, most of that came from a union which is a division of the Teamsters, which you've decried in another comment as corrupt.

I think it is. The dems did have some good working class initiatives, but they didn’t run on them nor did they take credit for what they did. Instead, Kamala ran her campaign beside Liz Cheney and billionaires. She chose not to run beside the biggest union leader in America. It sends a clear message
