How some of these plants are still legally sold in garden centres is just beyond me.
If it's for sale, then it should be safe for use and not detrimental to wider biodiversity. End of.

Yes, it has nice big purple flowers that's a magnet to butterflies, or it used to.
Back when I was a kid it deserved the name butterfly bush but I can't remember the last time I saw a butterfly on one in recent years.
