When the Brooks Brother riot stopped the count, the supreme court handed the presidency to Bush. That's when many people went to "the blogs" for citizen journalism. I found the Daily Kos. Bluesky is today's citizen journalism because again that is where you go for the truth, to the people.

I think that the younger generation of political reporters-- who cut their teeth with Clinton and a increasingly good economy-- followed the lead of the older journalists, most notably David Broder of the Wash Post
Back then it was "Oops! Nothing to see here!" "OK! We got a chosen president, folks!"
