Phase 1 which (most) are enjoying is what we're seeing now. The bits that are PITA's still such as the awkward security lines, and the super lengthy exit route, get fixed in a future phase. Also, much or most of the 2bil flows back to local businesses and communities. Read up on the materials sourcing, firms involved (ahem), etc. A general triumph of keeping it local. A rare bright project in a relatively dim era, so I think the poo pooing is misplaced :)

Now-- I will poo poo on the light fixtures hanging from the main ceiling. I hate them, I want them gone, I think they take away from the amazing ceiling.

Ooh maybe? I don't remember seeing them in the early renders. I mean, we clearly need added light, but do we need spiky monoliths that probably look great over a pool table, but shitty everywhere else?
