I'm a scientist and I'm married to an ER NP, so we have quite a few friends in healthcare and in science.. some of whom have actively been looking outside of the country for work. It's definitely a thing.

What will the US do when they lose a chunk of their scientists and healthcare workers? 🤷‍♀️

I know three people who are looking for work outside of the US after the agencies they worked for were gutted. My husband has lost several work collaborators from government agencies who have either been fired or left because conditions are so bad.

I think it's going to be a flood, not a trickle.

AND Ideology that led to the cuts. Scientists are sticky about compromising on their academic freedom to study and publish on the topics and findings of their choosing based on where the research leads them. A lot of stem cell scientist left the USA when president George Bush banned that research.
