rapidto has no teeth when the routes pass through wards with old, spineless car-brained councillors who ultimately have too much sway.

dufferin is likely to happen soon esp because there is political support along the route

Ehhhh I hope but I have no doubt transportation services will kick up a fuss due to the lack of dedicated left turn lanes (which most of Janes RapidTO corridor enjoys) on Dufferin and ‘muh intersection throughput’. Bravos decent but she’s no firebrand for transit either

aside from opposition, the local city councillor anthony peruzza had spread misinformation about the project as being "bad for transit riders".

city-led outreach didn't necessarily reach transit riders well either.

as part of TTCriders, we surveyed lots of riders and found immense support.

it's not over, of course - getting something done is better than nothing.

measurements of performance of this RapidTO project may pressure further changes to jane street, and riders on jane can fight for more priority measures.

this campaign is very close to my heart, having grown up taking this bus, so will keep advocating on this along with the rest of the community 🫡🫡 one day, we'll have real rapid transit on jane street.

I suggest that the Emergency Services be involved in advocating for more bus lanes and priority measures, as this would allow them to use bus lanes to bypass heavy traffic and save lives.

This is one of the strongest arguments in advocating for more bus lanes and priority measures. 🙂

it's a good idea! unfortunately the argument did not work well here. on routes where there are hospitals directly on the corridor it is a good point to bring up
