I respect that so much haha, there’s something to be said for having an online space that’s all your own, and you have total control over. Social media can change in an instant but your website is 100% yours!

Couldn’t agree more! Social media is volatile and, honestly, limiting for what I want on my site. Ideally, I’d like it to be a roadmap to my work—but getting it there will definitely take some time.

That’s a fair point, and one I’ve thought about a lot. Right now, my work is “trapped” in Amazon since it’s in KU, but I have considered expanding to other platforms. I just don’t want to make my books paid-only, given how things are economically right now.

For now, my website is less about selling books elsewhere and more about creating a space for deeper world and character insights. I want it to be a place where readers can explore more about Redwood Springs and its inhabitants beyond what’s on the page.

Exactly! I was thinking about this last night. I’d rather take my books wide, but then lots of people wouldn’t be able to read them, and it’s like a slap in the face for them while not hurting Amazon in the slightest.

Exactly! Leaving KU wouldn’t hurt Amazon—just me and the readers. Even if I could sustain sales, do I really want to make everyone buy my books instead of reading them through a membership? With how tough things are financially, I’d rather not. Hopefully, a better alternative comes along.
