I'm really uncertain on how I feel about this. The tech company I work for is doing the same thing all the while I've been telling them the results are *not* going to be longitudinally profitable; maybe not even in a single year.

But this feels like the inevitability, the rise and fall of NFTs.

Lay offs are terrible and should never happen, but this feels like how capitalism was always going to end--a bunch of ignorant folks at the top desperately looking for short term gains listening to the hype from sycophants.

If AI wrote good code then this could be understood if horrendous.

But they're replacing humans that can actually do the job with parrotech that does it... until you need something new, or something breaks, or you _don't_ want to be hacked.

The technology isn't a replacement it's _maybe_ a tool.
