The people saying that are just not old enough to remember the early video game crash (the reason the NES looks like a VCR), Sega failing at hardware, the boom and bust of Facebook games, Mobile games, Nintendo making the 2DS after the 3DS. The only constant in games is change.

I just hope it hits a good price point, gaming needs that right now.
I'm seeing PS5 Slim with disc drive and Xbox Series X start at 550€ here. That's a tough cookie to swallow this late into the generation.

Need at least 1 platform to be affordable for parents. Otherwise everything goes smartphone.

I mean, I get it, in the sense that Nintendo has always taken big swings ... and wanting to see one again. But iteration from Nintendo is also nothing new. Both the Game Boy and DS lines had 15 years of releases! But the Switch is a home run, and folks have been *begging* for an iteration.

Seriously, the fact that a new sequel to the currently existing console is being made and Nintendo is utilizing the Indie studio scene more than ever should be evidence that ideas still exist, and that the gaming scene is still alive for Nintendo's side of the gaming industry. I understand that perspective, but I also feel someone like Danny would choose to use X's paid benefits for business reasons only since he runs NoClip on Patreon and needs good social media reach to keep it going. It's unfortunate but necessary. Choosing not to show his tick is understandable too.
