I don't understand why there is a score for early access. I mean, it's early access (but I never liked scores) after all, and this makes no sense to compare this game to fully released titles.

The feedback seems in line with other reviews. (SkillUp has a good video review with similar remarks.) I just don't understand why they a.) need to score it yet, and b.) don't slap an "In Progress" tag on it. I get that things are open season once people can spend money on it, but it seems punitive.

Seems pretty extreme to say you'll celebrate their layoffs based on that though.

The game is $30 on Steam and has mixed reviews right on the store page - I feel like that's a bigger obstacle for the game right now anyway, tbh.

Giving review scores to early access is dumb. And why do games like BG3 get a "review in progress" in the title? If you're giving a score based on what could be in a AAA game then the same leniency applies to indies. Do these games even get a proper review at 1.0 or only AAA get that privilege?

IGN fucking over ever smaller scale AAA games like Alien Isolation and Prey always feels like them just finding what to score below their unreasonably high median, so people won't say that they only use 7 and above. And then they have the gall to say "nah, games 100% didn't fail cause of us"
