Also, the GOP as a party became much more Southern--in the 103rd Congress ('93-'94), the House split from the South was D 77 R 48; in the 104th it was D 61 R 64. Now it is D 43 R 96. Throw in WV, KY, MO, OK and it's D 45 and R 114. Most of those 114 would make George Wallace proud.
