The challenges aren’t completely insurmountable..but what kind of life could be made in a place trying to kill you in a thousand ways. Surviving isn’t living.
No human alive today will live to see a human survive return to Earth after visit to surface of Mars. A fairly well preserved corpse is best you can hope for.
Going to Mars and returning to Earth is near impossible. And very very EXPENSIVE. High risk. Little to be gained. A crazy stupid project.
I'm beginning to wonder if there is any grift any number of humans won't fall for. One Hitler wasn't enough for us, apparently. I fear that one Elon may be too many.
