I wish I’d been able to see Betsy Palmer perform as a dramatic actress. Growing up, I enjoyed watching her as a witty panelist on I’ve Got a Secret.

My mom went to high school with Betsy, which I learned right after I’d seen Friday the 13th at the theater. The walk home in the dark was bad enough — It was awfully unsettling thinking of mom hanging out with the lady who’d just slaughtered all those campers.
